About
the Author
Steven Shaw was a
professional swimmer who suffered physically for his sport almost leading him
to give it up. He subsequently trained as an Alexander teacher and was
encouraged to observe his behaviour in the water in the light of the
Technique. He developed a creative way to teach swimming based on the
principles of the Alexander Technique. The approach increases the benefits of
being in the water through greater body awareness and The Shaw Method is now
taught all over the world.
